Advocacy Plan
Step 1: Reach Out to Priority Legislators
Our first step is asking for support and/or sponsorship from legislators with a track record of backing food systems bills, as well as from members of the Assembly Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee, where the bill currently sits.
Step 2: Contact Your Home District Legislators
Next, use the same email template and phone script to reach out to your home district legislators, if they weren’t already on the priority list.
Please note: Legislators may still be out of office for the summer, but their staff will keep a record of all calls and emails. Our goal right now is to build enough awareness that the bill is on their radar and priority list when the legislature returns to session in September.
